Pressure cook the 1 cup basmati rice by adding three cups of water until four whistles. Keep aside. Soak a pinch of saffron in 1 tbsp milk for about 10 min. Keep aside.
Take the cooked rice in a kadai, add 1 cup sugar and 1 tbsp ghee, mix well.
After 10 minutes of stirring add 1/2 cup of ghee and saffron milk. You can add the remaining ghee depending consistency. Again stir for 5 min.
Take a small pan add 1 tbsp ghee, 2 tbsp chopped cashews, 2 tbsp raisins and fry for few min.
Now add fried cashews, raisins and 1/2 tsp cardamom powder to the cooked rice.
Once it starts leaving ghee from sides, remove from the fire.
