Sabudana Idli | Sabakki Idli | Sago Idli | Idli Recipe. Without urad dal you can make this delicious Idli. Sabudana idli is a traditional breakfast recipe in many south inidan households.

Sabudana Idli 2

 ½ cup Sabudana
 1 cup Medium rava or Bombay rava
 ¼ cup Carrot grated
 2 cups Curd
 2 cups Water
 ¼ tsp Baking Soda
 Oil
For tempering:
 2 tbsp Oil
 1 tsp Mustard seeds
 1 tsp Cumin seeds

Take a bowl add ½ cup sabudana, 1 cup rava, 2 cups curd and 1 cup water and mix well. Keep the batter to rest and ferment overnight.

Now add ½ cup water as required to adjust the consistency of idli batter. Add some salt and 1/4 cup grated carrot. Mix well.

Heat a small pan and 2 tbsp oil. When the oil is hot, add 1 tsp mustard seeds and 1 tsp cumin seeds, when the mustard seeds starts to sputter, add it to the idli batter.

Just before steaming, add a pinch of baking soda and mix well

Brush the idli plates with oil, pour the batter immediately into the idli plate. Steam it for 8-10 mins on medium flame.

Allow it to rest for 5 mins then unmould.
