Rice Kheer | Chawal Ki Kheer | Paal Payasam | Akki Payasa. Kheer recipe is a common and easy dessert
made in most of Indian households. Akki payasa is prepared using rice, milk and sugar.

Rice Kheer

 ½ cup Basmati rice
 4 cups Milk
 ¼ cup Sugar
 ½ tsp Cardamom powder
 1 tbsp Cashews
 1 tbsp Raisins

Heat 1 tsp ghee in a kadai, add cashews and raisins roast till golden brown and keep aside.

In a same kadai boil 4 cup milk.

Add 1/2 cup basmati rice and stir well.

Reduce the heat and let it simmer till rice is cooked and the mixture is thick.

Keep stirring once in a while to prevent rice sticking to the bottom and the sides.

When it is thick and creamy, add 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp cardamom powder, raisins and cashews. Mix well.

Cook for 10 min more. Rice Kheer Ready.
(Remember it will thicken still further when cool)
