Rava Idli | How To Make Rava Idli | Suji Idli Recipe | Semolina Idli. A popular south indian breakfast recipe made with urad dal and rava or semolina. You can be served with sambar or different chutneys.

Rava Idli

 1 cup Bombay rava (fine rava)
 ½ cup Urad dal
 Salt to taste

Soak 1/2 cup of urad dal for 3 hours.

Drain off the water then blend to smooth batter.

Take a pan and roast 1 cup bombay rava without any oil until it becomes yellow or very light brown in color. Take off from stove.

Take urad dal batter in a bowl and add roasted rava, mix it well.

Keep aside to ferment for 6-8 hours.

After 8 hours add salt to taste to the batter and mix gently.

Take idli maker and pour enough batter into idli maker plates.

Let it cook on medium flame for 15 to 20 minutes.

After 5 min remove the idli from plates and serve hot with chutney and sambar.
