Cucumber Muthiya | Muthia Recipe | Popular Gujarati Snack Recipe | How To Make Muthiya. Traditional Gujarati steamed snack recipe made with grated cucumber and spices.

Cucumber Muthiya

 1 cup Wheat flour
 ¼ cup Bombay rava (fine)
 ¼ cup Gram flour
 ½ tsp Garam masala
 ¼ tsp Red chilli powder
 ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
 ¼ tsp Fennel seeds
 A pinch of asafoetida
 2 cups Cucumber grated
 ½ tsp Ginger chopped
 1 Chilli finely chopped
 1 tbsp Curd
 1 tbsp Oil
 Salt to taste
For Tempering:
 2 tbsp Oil
 1 tsp Mustard seeds
 1 tsp Cumin seeds
 1 Dried red chilli
 2 tbsp Coconut grated
 Few coriander leaves chopped

Take a bowl add 1 cup wheat flour, ¼ cup bombay rava (fine), ¼ cup gram flour, ½ tsp garam masala, ¼ tsp red chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ¼ tsp fennel seeds and a pinch of asafoetida.

Mix well and add 2 cup grated cucumber, ½ tsp chopped ginger, 1 finely chopped chilli, 1 tbsp curd, 1 tbsp oil and salt to taste.

Again knead the dough well. Then rest the dough for 10 minutes. Now take a large ball sized dough and roll to a cylindrical shape.

Place the rolled dough into the steamer and steam for 20 minutes.

Now cool slightly and cut into thick slices. Keep aside.

Take a kadai heat 2 tbsp oil, add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 dried red chilli.

Add sliced muthiya and 2 tbsp coconut grated and mix gently. Garnish with coriander leaves.
