Majjige Kadhi | Majjige Saaru recipe is simple curry recipe made with a combination of buttermilk and coconut. You can make this saaru thick or thin according to your choice. The recipe is perfectly suitable with hot and steamed rice for lunch and dinner.
Ingredients
Directions
In a blender, grind together ½ cup grated coconut, ½ tsp ginger paste and 2 green chilli.
Now in a large kadai heat 1 tbsp oil and splutter ½ tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp cumin seeds, 1 dried red chilli and a pinch of asafoetida.
Add 1 chopped onion and ½ tsp turmeric powder fry for minutes.
Pour in prepared coconut mixture and mix well.
Keep the flame on low and stir for 5 minutes. Then add 1 cup water adjusting consistency as required.
Also, add salt, sugar and simmer for 2 minutes.
Finally add 1 cup buttermilk, mix well. Switch of the stove.
Tasty Majjige Kadhi or Majjige Saaru ready to serve.
