Badam Puri Recipe | Badam Poori | Indian Dessert Recipes | Sweet Recipes. Badam Puri recipe is an authentic and traditional south indian dessert recipe made with plain flour, almonds and sugar syrup. Badam poori is generally made for occasion and celebration feast.
Ingredients
Directions
Take a bowl add 2 cup all purpose flour, ½ cup badam powder, 2 tbsp rava, ¼ tsp baking powder, 2 tbsp ghee, 1 tsp sugar and ¼ tsp salt. Mix well.
Add ½ cup milk and make smooth and tight dough. Grease oil, cover and rest for 10 minutes.
Take a pan add 1 cup sugar, ½ cup water and 1 tsp saffron mix well and boil until the sugar dissolves.
Add ¼ tsp cardamom powder and boil until sugar syrup attains 1 string consistency. Add few drops of lemon juice, mix well. Keep aside
Pinch a ball sized dough and lightly pat on oiled surface and make a small puri having 6 - 7cm diameter.
Spread ¼ tsp ghee and fold half.
Again spread ghee and fold triangle.
Now again roll gently to flatten the layers.
Heat oil in kadai and drop the badam puri in medium hot oil, fry until the puri turns golden and crisp.
Drain off the puri taking off excess oil. Then drop the puri into warm sugar syrup. Allow it soak for 3 minutes.
Enjoy the yummy and tasty badam puri.
